Chapter Five

Tyler

“Where are you taking me?” Vicky asks as I pull on her hand, leading her off into the dark beach. In the distance, I see the faint light from the candles I’ve set up. Thank God the wind is on my side tonight.

I turn to face her and see her grin under the night lights. By now, she must have answered her own question.

We reach the blanket laid out with a picnic basket. Chocolate covered strawberries and a bottle of Moët greet us. I included a strawberry milkshake in her picnic basket, because if there’s one thing I know Victoria loves, it’s her milkshake.

“Who would have thought?” she remarks.

I grin. “Who would have thought what?”

“That the sexy sailor man can be such a sweetheart; dare I say, a romantic?”

I don’t consider myself to be a romantic, and I’m sure any of the woman that came after Victoria would agree. I’m not doing all of this because I now consider myself to be her romantic knight in shining armor, riding in with a rose clutched between my teeth. I’m doing this because Victoria deserves the best, because she deserves to be treated like fucking royalty.

“Only for you, my queen.”

I lower my glance down to her cute little feet and grin at the butterfly tattoo under the sole of her right foot. I still recall the moment she got the idea to get a tattoo in a place only I’d see. After refusing to let her get a tattoo on her ass, because I refused to have the tattoo artist see the thick ass that belongs to me, she got a tattoo of a butterfly with our initials inked in each wing.
